'The Tourist' by Radiohead
I am well aware that there is no one 'right' or 'best' kind of music, and that everyone's experience with music is different. Thus, I can't really put my finger on one piece of music and say, "this is the best song in the world, inarguably." However, I do want to dedicate a whole blog page to one piece of music that, were I allowed to choose what went on the Voyager space craft along with a recording of "Dark Was the Night, Cold Was the Ground" by Blind Willie Johnson, I would select a recording of the song "The Tourist" by Radiohead. I've already included this song on the page Musical Masters, and what a masterpiece it is. When I hear it, to me, it's like the human soul crying out through song. Radiohead has tapped into so many a spiritual aquifer with their music; Thom Yorke's non-chalant humility in interviews drives me bonkers. Please enjoy and experience "The Tourist," from Radiohead's album "OK Computer."
